Starting Lineup

Dean Henderson Had little to do required during the opening 45 until tested by Arbër Hoxha’s bent shot. A sliding challenge against Qazim Laci showed excellent reading of the game. 6/10

The debutant Tested against Albania’s biggest threat through Hoxha. Operated in a central role to begin with but moved to the flank after a teammate came on. 7

The defender Pushed forward when in possession, as he has done previously. On occasion was too casual in possession and the tactic was shelved after the break. 6/10

The tall defender A nuisance from dead balls, typically, but may be an alternative for Stones in defense instead of alongside him. A careless pass in the second half nearly resulted in the first goal from Albania. 6

The young full-back Another assured showing by the 20-year-old following his first cap versus another side. A teammate did not capitalize on the opportunity from an exquisite backheel over their defense. His position is his to lose at this stage. 7

The newcomer A debut start with the national team. A bit careless on the ball however his dangerous corners caused problems. A useful tempo-setter available to the boss to utilize versus defensive opponents. Shown a yellow after a reckless foul. 6

The midfielder Deliveries on corner kicks and set-plays created chances. Was given room to move on the left yet found himself in an offside position when the ball arrived with a chance to score. Given a well-earned break on the hour mark. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Operated in an advanced role down the right while also did plenty of defensive duties. Showed moments of class and scuffed an effort high. Withdrawn towards the end for a teammate, his competition, after receiving a caution. Seven

The winger Had England’s clearest opportunity of the first half, his effort well saved from the opposing goalkeeper. As Quansah staying deep, he was forced to stretch the play down the right side but his crosses from wide areas varied in quality. Replaced with 15 to go. Six

The captain The difference-maker scoring 77th and 78th goals in an England shirt. The first a trademark poacher’s finish and the second a superb headed goal having drifted away away from the opposition. Aged 32, he continues to improve and the side have every chance next summer when he's in the team. Eight

The attacker Struggled to influence play on the left flank. Was presented with a decent opportunity after being played in by the midfielder yet Strakosha kept it out. Rashford had a greater influence when substituted. Five

• Anderson (for Wharton 75) Looks established at this level, Six
• Rogers (replacing Bellingham with minutes remaining) Too brief a spell to influence the game, 6/10
