The British player made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments major tournaments during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her final two events of the year as a result of a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

The 22-year-old was due to play in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to recover prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

These plans will involve coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

The tennis professional had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match against Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and retired when trailing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the first round.

She was also playing with clear difficulty in the deciding set versus Zhu due to a lower back issue that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which she climbed into the world's top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

Raducanu had three match points prior to falling to Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved 28 matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in in time for the US Open.

The first plan with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

The athlete revealed that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
